What is myFocus+?
How it works: My_Focus+ was developed and designed by a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist who is also a former elementary teacher and mother of three. The challenges posed by attention and focus issues can be felt by not only the person who is struggling, but those around him or her as well. This app is designed to make completing tasks something more streamlined and attainable. As a parent or caregiver, the frustration you feel from the lack of focus of the child is sometimes overwhelming. Now think about what is going on in the mind of the child you care about – the constant chatter, movement, stimulation, and/or ideas. Being able to stay on task can be nearly impossible. The goal of this app is to help create a consistent schedule, send gentle reminders, and reward positive outcomes. It will also provide encouragement and some feedback for a second chance to make it right! This app is not meant to replace your oversight or guidance. It is simply a tool to help in the process and provide reinforcement to get the job done.
Instructions:
• Choose an icon for you child. If you are signing up more than one child, it is suggested that each child have a unique icon.
• Choose the tasks and assign timeframes, due dates, and reward points.
• Inform your child about how this works • Let’s begin!
